Please see cruise options that we picked . Some are more traditional cruises for you to consider, and some are small cruise companies that go "off the beaten path". The things to know about these small ship cruises is that the accommodations and food will be more basic, but the ships are much smaller, the captains and crew onboard really know Alaska well and it can be a great learning experience, plus small ships can go places that big ships can't. And the crowd tends to be younger. Some of the luxury more established cruise lines that I considered would have great food and wine, but in terms of actually seeing Alaska and being interesting for the kids - probably not so much.
