Looking for a unique experience in hotel luxury, consider a tree house in the midst of the Costa Rican rain forest. There are private houses, like bed and breakfast inns, located in areas around La Fortuna, and close to the Arenal Volcano. Situated a short distance from high tourist areas, the secluded houses are private and certainly full of fun and adventure.

The number of houses is small, this is not a luxury hotel resort, but sitting on 10 acres, and surrounded by 70 acres of wildlife refuge, a waterfall, and small pools to swim and relax, as well a beautiful river to enjoy as well. From bird watching to wild animals, there is something for everyone to see. Monkeys, toucans, parrots and more, there are animals for guests to see every day, and some species of butterflies, as well as surprise guests that grace the guests on occasion.

The philosophy here is “take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints, and kill nothing but time.” As you enjoy a delicious breakfast, you can enjoy the bird feeding area, or hummingbird gallery, and meet with other guests, while you enjoy the flavors of Costa Rican coffee. The private accommodations feature air conditioning, warm showers, refrigerators, safes, and scenic decks. There are housekeeping and laundry services daily. There are a variety of restaurants in close proximity, and hospitality is generous. Great food, great service, and smiles all around. A vacation in Costa Rica is major for most visitors and so it is important for it to be stress free, and enjoyable. The specialized attention given to the guests here is no different than a five star luxury resort, and carried through the nearby communities as well.

If you are looking for a guided tour of the area you can plan an adventure that is sure to please, taking you to the tourist areas, the off the path areas, and providing you with transportation, as well as expert information. If you want to take off on your own tour, you can get some details and advice on where best to go, and the safest mode of transportation. There are very places in the world that compares to these tree houses, and spending the nights nestled high in the forest canopy, surround by wildlife and listening to the soft sounds of all the animals.

Built upon tall stilts, the houses sweep people back to their childhood dreams and allow you enjoy memories from long ago, as well as build new ones with your family. The tree houses are created with a sloped wooden suspension bridge that leads to the front door, and designed with a split level. Once you enter the adventure there is an upstairs that features a double king bed and bathroom, and downstairs a second double bed, single bed and kitchen. Certainly enough space for a family, but small and cozy enough for a romantic get away.

The furniture that is adorning the tree house is hand carved sustainable wood, open windows with screens to keep the bugs out allow a great view, and to add splashes of color you have the scarlet Birds of Paradise flowers placed around the room. The Tree Houses of Costa Rica are an adventure awaiting to happen, and certainly the place to have the Tarzan fantasy come to life.
