Andy Thesen, an avid environmentalist and the owner of Hermitage Bay started on the

development working to transform the bay by hand, clearing with care, but working to

maintain the peace and tranquility that was the spirit of the bay. Even today the sounds of

man made noise are kept to a minimum allowing the natural sounds to surround the bay.

People listen to the waves on the beach, the birds chirping in the trees, the breeze as it

passes along each window. The perfect place for those trying to get away, a real

hermitage.

Now a totally refreshing resort, contemporary in design yet unlike any other sitting in the

Caribbean, Hermitage Bay features 17 hillside bungalows, and 8 beach bungalows, large,

crisp and clean in decor, massive windows with outdoor showers and views that are

simply breathtaking. The paths that line the resort have a well tended organic garden that

supplies the restaurant, and bougainvillea that show the way to the absolutely divine

beach.

Construction of the property was done with sustainable building materials, and the hotel

still adheres to the foundation today, “reduce, reuse, and recycle”. They also put forth

efforts to use solar energy technology, all natural detergents and utilize locally grown

fruits and vegetables. The Hermitage Bay resort is an all-inclusive property, so guests

enjoy meals, snacks, appetizers at happy hour, beverages that include alcohol and wines,

as well as French champagne and prosecco. Airport transfers are included in the rates,

exercise classes that feature yoga and pilates, water sports that include snorkeling,

windsurfing, paddle boards and more, all for their guests to enjoy in their stay.

The sweet seclusion of the Hermitage Bay hotel is loved by all, surrounded by white sand

beaches and the simple understated luxury of the hillside cottages, sitting nestled among

the lush green gardens. The Garden Spa and gym are a lead in to the amenities the hotel

offers, but it also has a DVD library, free WiFi throughout the hotel, flatscreen TV’s,

sound systems, minibars, Aromatherapy and more. If you are looking for the most

favored rooms, the Hillside Pool Suites are a perfect fit. You have to climb a short hill

but it will be worth the trek. The stunning view, the private infinity plunge pools, the

white-curtained- day-bed terraces that make lounging with a drink and watching the

Caribbean sunset spectacular. The Beachfront Suites might not have the private pools,

but the fact the sea is a step away, simply amazing.

For those who want to stay out of the sea, and looking for a freshwater experience, they

can take a dip in the very inviting infinity-edged pool that overlooks the sea, and sits

beside the lounge bar. Another unique and tantalizing experience at the Hermitage Bay

resort take place at the Garden Spa, offering the Dorissima treatments, they use colour

rituals based on the body’s Chakra systems, a full service spiritual enlightment. So if you

are looking for a resort off the beaten path, one that provides luxury and serenity, visit

Heritage Bay, and relax.
